Cupido ~Yellow #5

Non- objective Paintings in yellow by Dawn O'Connell-Forte

I enjoy putting my personal thoughts into non-objective paintings, everyone has their own special ideas that come to mind when viewing a painting without specific subject matter.

Narragansett Beach 1

This is the third step of the painting, adding the details.  I always start with the darkest darks, then I go wherever the lush paint takes me.  It is very easy to paint for hours without thinking " I need to stop" step back and review and look for what part needs improvement.  The REFLECTION piece is very important so that you can learn from your mistakes.

Narragansett Beach 1

So I started sketching from some pictures that I took this summer at the beach.  The first step was the pencil drawing, the second part was the light orange acrylic paint on the surface of the masonite, I like to prime the board with acrylic paint and when that dries you can start your  oil paint sketch.  The beach was so busy that the pictures have a busy composition with a lot of interesting people and the swarm of beach chairs adds interesting lines comming on and off the edge of the composition.

"Gotta have a Dunkin"

This is a popular place to buy coffee in Rhode Island every morning before work a large part of  "Little Rhody" dwellers wait in lines for a cup of Joe from Dunkin.  This is my 3rd Rhode Island painting I will be posting more of this POP Art, popular culture theme for RI.

Thank you for viewing

Cranston Country Club

Another view of the club, a great place for artists to gather.

Landscape at the Rhode Island Cranston Country Club

This is the Cranston Country Club where my husband and son love to play golf.  I would rather sit and paint the landscape, is very peacful... I can understand why people enjoy the sport.
