Backyard Tire Swing

This is my backyard in fall I have not posted for several months and need get back into the "swing" of things.  I tried to limit my palette to analogous; colors that are side by side on the color wheel.

Trader Joe Flowers

Love looking through the flowers at Trader Joes.  When you put them into a little oil painting the flowers never die. 

Summer Flowers

I like to paint a variety of subjects so I often switch from still life to landscape then to the human figure.  It is good to keep your skills adept to change,  it also keeps your mind sharp.    

Snowy Day

An array of blues such as Cyan, and Ultramarine make the snow sparkle.

Frisbee anyone?

This is my puppy Skye, she loves to play frisbee in the backyard.  I painted this from a photo, I was attracted to the bright sunlight on her snow white hair. It's difficult to get a good puppy picture because she is always running to fast for the camera.

This was the one warm day on Marco Beach,  Robyn and her daughter, I thought this made a lovely composition.

Meshanicut Lake Cranston RI 

 It was a beautiful weekend to paint at the lake I arranged my warm and cool palette, there were many people walking and driving.  Some would stop to take a look, I enjoyed their friendly conversations. The ducks were very irritated with the fact that I set my painting tools and materials near their territory.  One raised her wings, honked and hissed then a quarrel broke out among the other ducks.

Had a lovely day painting with the group, when you walk through the city your eye catches the most interesting sights.  Driving a car through does not lend itself to the optimal visual experience.

Neighborhood in Late August

This is the neighbors house across the street, I like the colors of the late summer months, and painting in the neighborhood during the summer is comfortable. I also enjoyed hearing the little kids run up and down the street, too many children today spend more time inside on computers than outside playing with friends, so it was a welcome sound to hear the little voices all afternoon.
